Bears’ Coach Extension Of Contract Still On Process
The NFC’s championship game last weekend didn’t favor the Chicago Bears that much. They lost the game against the Green Bay Packers with the score of 21-14. The Packers joins the Pittsburgh Steelers in their quest for the famous Vince Lombardi’s trophy of the Super Bowl XLV. The event would be held live in Arlington, Texas, at the Cowboys Stadium. As early as this time, tickets were nearly sold out that’s why for those who can’t make it, Super Bowl 2011 live stream would be provided. Fox is the official network that would host the event and they would have Joe Buck and Troy Aikman as announcers.
The Chicago Bears is almost there but it just didn’t happen. There has been so many hindrances such as the injury of their quarterback Jay Cutler. He wasn’t able to play for the team after the first series of the 3rd quarter. Because of what happened, there has been speculations as well that the contract of coach Lovie Smith won’t be renewed. However, General Manager Jerry Angelo said that the extension for Smith is in the works.
“We very much want to extend Lovie, and the job that he’s done and the staff. Our focus, our intent is to extend Lovie,” Angelo said Monday. “We wanted to wait until the season is over. That will be part of the business at hand in the next several weeks.”
Smith expressed his desire to continue to coach the team. “I love being the head football coach of the Chicago Bears every day. I’ve been here and hope to be there for many years to come,” he said.
