Kim Clijster Bagged 3rd US Open Title

It just a sweet victory as ever. For two consecutive years, Kim Clijsters was able to make it as US Open champ. Last year she was able to bagged the win against Caroline Wozniacki who unfortunately wasn’t able to pass through Vera Zvonarev, this year’s Clijster’s opponent.

The game took 1 hour with the official score of 6-2, 6-1. The seventh seed Zvonarev wasn’t able to surpass Clijster’s deep, powerful, well-placed groundstrokes, as well as her court-wide defense, characterized by speed and athleticism. The Belgian mom happily raised her shimmering trophy while carrying her love daughter. She would be receiving $2.2 million for this win.

Clijsters became the only mom who was able to win a major since she won US Open in 2005. It was followed last year. Meaning to say, after Venus Williams who made a back to back win way back 2000 and 2001, Clijsters as well followed William’s achievement.

Last year’s match has been so exciting as well. It could have been more exciting if Wozniacki was able to make it through. Wozniacki just defeated the ever famous Anna Sharapova but not Zvonarev. She was also a tough opponent as well but Clijsters managed to stand out.

The tournament ended peacefully as Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in the men’s single division. Tennis fans would then see each other for next year’s matches.
