Bryant and Woods Tied for the Most Popular Athlete in US

Kobe Bryant, 2009 and 2010 MVP of NBA paired with Tiger Woods, the renowned golfer both got the Most Popular Athlete in the US.
Bryant of Los Angeles Lakers has joined Tiger Woods in the poll conducted by Harris Interactive involving 2227 adults and took place during the week of June 14-21. It is also the time that the Lakers won over Celtics and Tiger Woods at the same time tied for fourth place at the US Open at Pebble Beach.
Woods has been facing marital problems and infidelity cases late last year yet remained to be on the top spot in the poll since 2006. His golf skills has been incomparable although he is has not yet won any title yet since his comeback however starting to gain back his momentum. Bryant on the other hand also has faced sexual assault charge in late 2003 which has caused his fall out of the poll. He rose to the fourth place when Lakers made it to the Finals in 2008 and eventually won in 2009 and 2010. These victory raised his position to the top spot joining Woods.
Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees made it the third spot followed by Minnesota Viking quarterback Brett Favre. For the women’s division, Serena Williams made it to the top followed by sister Venus. Following the Williams is NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.
