Spain Wins World Cup Finals: $2 Million Celebration Set
World Cup 2010 Champions Spain Gets Heroes Welcome – Spain will get the most lavish celebration ever made for any Spanish football team in the history of Spain. A $2 million worth of party and celebration is in place for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals champion.

The celebration will last for 36 ours and even more. It will consist mainly of a victory tour parade through the streets of Madrid and celebrations with family, government ministers and members of Spain’s soccer federation. It was planned in advance but the 1-0 win over Germany made it more grand.
This is the first ever World Cup championship title of Spain and the team worked so hard to get this titled, thus, everyone deserves such a great and grand party.
The team headed by coach Vicente del Bosque will land at Madrid’s Barajas airport late Monday afternoon. Upon landing they will be greeted by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero. After that a series of parties and tribute events will be accorded to Andres Iniesta and his teammates until late Tuesday night.
“No one is going to want to sleep for a long time,” goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas said. “It is special, magical. We will enjoy it, don’t worry.”
Here is the itinerary of the World Cup 2010 Champion Victory Celebration in Spain:
MONDAY, July 12, 2010:
- Monday late afternoon – Spanish team lands at Madrid’s Barajas Airport. Spanish Prime Minister will greet them and accorded welcome honors.
- The team will be hosted at Prime Minister’s residence at Moncloa Palace where they will meet senior figures in Spanish society and members of the government and be entertained with champagne.
- An open-top bus will parade the team through the streets of Madrid will ten proceed. The highlight of the bus ride will be a stop at the Principe Pio, where the team is expected to hoist their World Cup 2010 trophy.
- A dinner is planned after at upscale restaurant that specializes in traditional Spanish food. The dinner is by invitation only to select group of friends and family members.
- An invitation-only party at the New Garamond nightclub will cap the Monday celebration of the Spanish team. This is expected to last until early Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY, July 13, 2010:
- Appearances on morning television and sports shows are lined up early in the morning.
- Breakfast with friends and team mates.
- Team heads to the house of Iker Casillas and will watch a repeat of the game.
- More celebrations and visits are expected to follow until the Spanish team finally separates and heads home late Tuesday night for a long awaited and overdue rest.
